Foreigners cut apartment purchases in Thailand by 8.8%, but the average budget grew by about 8%

· News, Thailand

SNIP1 published calculations by the GZhA.rf real estate agency. In the first half of 2026, 6,533 condominium units were transferred to foreign buyers in Thailand, 8.8% fewer than a year earlier. The total value of purchases fell by only 1.5%, to 28.267 billion baht.

The estimated average budget per property rose from about 4.01 million to 4.33 million baht, that is, by about 8%.

Commentary by Alexey Kotlov

Alexey Kotlov, CEO of GZhA.rf, notes that the growth may be linked to a larger share of more expensive properties, but without a breakdown by location and buyer it is still premature to draw a definite conclusion about the causes.
